And this is how STONE TOWER KENNELS was born !!

I've always had dogs in my life like Snoopy a beautiful cross between a colley and a fox terrier , she followed me faithfully to my first riding school every weekend . Then , at the age of 17 I left home for France , following my passion for horses , to live and work in Brittany . Here I groomed for an English lady who competed with her welsh pony team in international driving competitions . Whilst travelling around France competing with the pony team , Elfie , a cross bred poodle kept me company .

In the small french village , I easily adapted to the French way of life and my french friends adopted me , taught me their language , and FRANCE became my home.

My first dog was a gift from these wonderful french friends , a cross breed Griffon Fauve de Bretagne (cross french hunting dog) who came from the RSPCA . I called him Whisky and at the age of 13 he is still with me .

I never really took an interest in any particular breed of dogs as I loved all dogs and my horse passion took up all of my time.

My passion for the CAIRN TERRIER began whilst at a showjumping competition when falling under the charm of a handsome rider and his CAIRN TERRIER Lully !! The rider became my husband and Lully the CAIRN TERRIER witnessed not only our wedding but the arrival of our daughter Lucy !!

Lully unfortunately left us , and I swore I would have another CAIRN TERRIER as soon as I could , the character of this little dog who really thought he was a big dog , was just amazing and I had to have another one !!

After many months of annoying my husband , Father Christmas surprised us all in 2002 with TEEVIE DE KERMEST the most beautiful female 3 month old CAIRN TERRIER !!!

Lucy our daughter introduced TEEVIE to the rest of our family ; the horses , Léo the cat , and Whisky of course .

TEEVIE proved to me what a wonderful character the CAIRN TERRIER has , fun , lively , intelligent , and always in a good mood , always ready for a game.... TEEVIE quickly became part of our lives and when not in the yard with me hunting the mice , she's playing ball with Lucy .

With a husband whose passion is horse breeding , he soon encouraged me to do the same with TEEVIE ... so in 2006 I decided it was time for TEEVIE and I to try the show ring . TEEVIE's results were so encouraging and the showing was such fun , meeting other dog owners and breeders etc.. that this new passion just took hold and whisked me away !! Now I just can't stop !!

During shows , I had the occasion to watch the agility courses and soon fell in love with a second breed ... THE SHETLAND SHEEPDOG !! Very different from the CAIRN TERRIER but being a showjumper breeder mixing my passions was a wonderful idea , ...DOGS ...SHOWJUMPING .. why not ?? I eventually found an excellent SHETLAND SHEEPDOG breeder , Mr and Mrs THEBAULT well known for their meticulous selection and excellent pedigree . And a few months later BIANCA BLONDE DU GRAND PRE D'ORTIGNAC , a beautiful black , white and tan , 10 week old SHETLAND SHEEPDOG joined my herd of dogs !

After a few months of showing national and internationally , and meeting different breeders who advised and taught me much about this new world I was discovering , with their advice andwhat I had already learned from my husband about selection , genetics and quality , I decided to put this into practice with my dogs . But to be able to have the quality I wanted I decided that I should only concentrate on 2 breeds : the CAIRN TERRIER and the SHETLAND SHEEPDOG . I then chose the prefix for my dogs STONE TOWER

and my adventure began...
